Frequently Asked Questions

Should I boil potatoes before grilling?

Par cooking potatoes before grilling can not only dramatically reduce cooking times, but par cooking potatoes promotes even cooking, and the opportunity to introduce extra flavor, for example boiling or simmering potatoes in salted water or stock. While par cooking potatoes works very well for sliced or cut potatoes, it can also be a handy tip for whole grilled or “baked” potatoes on the grill. Try microwaving russet potatoes for 5-6 minutes before grilling to reduce the cooking time from 45-50 minutes to less than 20 minutes.
