Help Students Improved academic and physical performance with Potatoes!
We know that you strive to empower your students academically and physically. That means educating them about nutritional ways to improve their lives — in-class and on the field. Potatoes USA has teamed up with the educational specialists at Young Minds Inspired (YMI) to provide information about the important role potatoes can play in sports performance and training, as well as in academic achievement.
Pump It Up With Potatoes! – Potatoes are loaded with potassium, an essential electrolyte that helps maintain normal blood pressure and is important for muscle contraction and nerve impulse conduction. This handout features tips for including potatoes in meal plans. In addition, it allows students to examine their schedules to plan their own meals, and provides a link to delicious potato recipes.
Power Up With Potatoes! – The carbohydrates and energy-packed nutrients in potatoes can help student-athletes power their bodies and brains for peak performance on the field and in the classroom. With this handout, students can explore how their meals can help them perform at the top of their game.
