The original competition start date was July 2022. Due to the low fresh potato supply, Potatoes USA decided to postpone its Merchandising Best Practices competition until Fall 2022.

Calling all produce decision-makers!

We’re talking to you buyers, sales managers, merchandising managers, and procurement specialists. Potatoes USA is the marketing and research organization for the over 2,000 potato growers in the U.S. and we want you to come to Denver. Here is your chance to optimize your potato merchandising in-store and win a fun-filled adventure to Denver, Colorado.

Your Experience in Denver:

Fresh Potato Merchandising Best Practices Competition (the “Challenge”)
This is a commercial Promotion and is not open to the general public.
Open to [1] legal residents of the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia); [2] who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry; and [3] retailer employees who are corporate level retail decision-makers (Produce Sales Managers, Merchandising Managers, Vice Presidents of Produce, Perishables Managers, Buyers, Produce Directors, etc.) focused on long-term growth for the potato category. (the “Entrant” or “Participant”).  Employees of Potatoes USA (the “Sponsor”), related subsidiaries and affiliated companies, prize suppliers, and advertising and promotion agencies including Sterling-Rice Group, Marden-Kane, Inc., and each of their respective agents, representatives, officers, directors, shareholders, and employees, and the immediate families (spouse, and parents, children and siblings, and their respective spouses regardless of where they live) (collectively “Releasees”), and individuals living in the same households, whether related or not, of the above, are not eligible to enter or win a prize. Void outside the 50 United States, D.C. and where prohibited by law. By participating and/or accepting a prize, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and to accept decisions of the Sponsor as final in all matters relating to this Challenge.

General Prize Conditions: Winners are responsible for the payment of all taxes on the prizes.  All details of prizes not specified herein shall be determined solely by Sponsor. Except as provided herein, no cash, transfers or prize substitution is allowed except at the discretion of Sponsor, who reserves the right where lawful to substitute a prize (or prize component) with one of comparable or greater value. If prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of Sponsor, a substitute prize of equal or greater retail value will be awarded; provided, however, that if prize is awarded but unclaimed or forfeited by recipient, prize may not be re-awarded, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. By accepting the prize, Winner acknowledges compliance with these Official Rules.  In no event will more Challenge prizes be awarded than those listed in these Official Rules.

Restricted Content: The content restrictions that follow apply to all Entries. Entries may NOT include content that:
(1) contains any misuse of brand names; (2) depicts any person/business other than person/business they are Nominating; (3) uses any third-party trademarks, company names or logos, commercial or corporate advertising or artwork, or recognizable branded products or locations; (4) violates any third-party property or other rights including, but not limited to: copyrights, trademark, right of publicity or privacy, or any other proprietary rights; (5) involves libelous, defamatory, disparaging, tortuous or slanderous materials; (6) involves nudity, or adult-oriented or sexually-explicit behavior or subjects; (7) involves explicit or offensive language or content; (8) involves violence; (9) portrays imitations of people or characters from movie/TV shows, etc.; (10) portrays discrimination; (11) promotes illegal activities of any kind; (12) promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, age or any basis protected by federal, state or local law, ordinance, or regulation; (13) denigrates, disparages or reflects negatively on the Sponsor, its products, or employees, or on any other person, company, product, or service; (14) is unlawful or contrary to the laws or regulations in the State in which the Submission was created; (15) is confidential; and/or (16) promotes a political agenda regardless of the political affiliation. If an Entry includes any of the prohibited content listed above, at the sole determination of Sponsor, the Entry will be disqualified. The above list is not intended to be exhaustive; Sponsor may disqualify an Entry if it includes any content which, in Sponsor’s opinion, is otherwise unsuitable in connection with this Challenge. Sponsor reserves the right to reject or disqualify any Entry at any time, in its sole discretion, without incurring any liability.

Conditions of Entry: By participating in this Challenge, all participants agree that Releasees shall have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from or in connection with the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of such prize or with participation in this Challenge.  Participants further agree that the Releasees are not responsible for the following: (i) electronic transmissions, entries or submissions that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, damaged, garbled, destroyed, misdirected or not received by Sponsor or its agents for any reason, (ii) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication failures or human error that may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries or related materials, or for destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries or related material, (iii) failed or unavailable hardware, network, software or telephone transmissions, damage to entrants’ or any person’s computer and/or its contents related to or resulting from participation in this Challenge, or causes beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control that jeopardize the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Challenge; (iv) any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these rules (all such entries will be disqualified); (v) printing errors in these Official Rules or in any advertisements or correspondence in connection with this Challenge: or (vi) cheating or fraud by any participant. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Challenge should virus, bugs, fraud or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Challenge and in such case to award the prize based on the eligible, received as of the date of cancellation.  CAUTION:  ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CHALLENGE MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS.  SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

General Conditions: Prizes will be awarded, provided more than enough qualified entries have been received. Decisions of the Sponsor and judging organization are final and binding in all respects of the Challenge and no correspondence shall be entered into.  By accepting a prize, winner (or his/her parent or legal guardian if winner is a minor in his/her state of residence) consents to the use of winner’s name, photograph, Entry submission and limited biographical information for advertising, promotional or trade purposes, including but not limited to online announcements, in commerce and in all media worldwide without limitation or additional compensation or notice, except where prohibited by law.  The Challenge is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
