Research: Better Your Breakfast with Potatoes

Nearly 50% of Foodservice Operators indicate the largest opportunity for potatoes is breakfast 1  

Our mother taught us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yet it can be a challenging daypart for consumers, foodservice operators and consumer packaged goods formulators.  Luckily, potatoes are an amazingly versatile and delicious ingredient that comes in many forms to accommodate these challenges.

We know consumers value convenience and portability in the morning. 87% of consumers see potatoes as easy or convenient to eat on the go while 83% think they hold up well until eaten2, both of which are important attributes for breakfast foods.  Given the versatility and consumer appeal, there is a strong opportunity for new menu innovations and product development which highlight the nutritional and functional benefits of this amazing vegetable!
