Potatoes Power Performance

Potatoes aren’t just delicious, they’re a powerhouse of nutrition for athletes worldwide!

Whether you’re training for your first 5K or already competing with elite athletes, potatoes help fuel your body so you can go the distance.

Did you know? Potatoes are a nutrient-dense vegetable that provides:

  • 26g (9% daily value) of quality carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the primary fuel for the body and brain.
  • 15% of your daily potassium, which is more than a medium-sized banana. Potassium is essential for muscle functioning.
  • 30% of your daily Vitamin C to help boost the immune system and aid in collagen production, a major muscle tissue component.
  • 3 grams of plant-based protein, a key component of muscle growth.
  • 2 grams of fiber. Fiber helps regulate blood glucose and increases satiety, making you feel full longer (and preventing those mid-run hunger pangs).
  • 110 calories for energy. Easily digestible and more energy-dense than any other popular vegetable, potatoes are perfect for runners.
