Meet Speedy Spud Revani

Revani G. is one of 26 Speedy Spuds who will run the 2026 Pittsburgh Marathon dressed in a potato costume.

I’ve been involved in sports my whole life and started running track in high school. I ran my first half marathon with my mom while I was in college. I was born in South Africa, grew up in Virginia, and have lived in Pittsburgh for about 11 years. After tearing my ACL two years ago, I realized just how important running was to me. It was a long recovery, but I was thrilled to return and run the Pittsburgh Half Marathon last year.

What race are you running?

Half Marathon

Why are potatoes your go-to fuel?

Potatoes are comfort food for me. They’re filling, satisfying, and come in so many delicious forms.

Favorite potato dish:

I could eat fries every day, but if I’m feeling fancy I’d say scalloped potatoes.

Why did you enter the Speedy Spud contest?

Potatoes are the best—I couldn’t resist applying!

How are you prepping for the race?

Winter meant lots of treadmill miles, along with cross-training on the bike, pickleball, and weight training to stay strong for race day. I’m incredibly excited to participate as a Speedy Spud.
